Flourish in Vita.MN and l'etoile

Thank you, Vita.MN.

And thank you, l'etoile!
"Psych dramas, melancholy, apathy and double-entendres, tonight's MAEP group exhibition promises it all and then some, in a visually pleasing fashion, of course. Featuring new works by four Minneapolis artists – Jennifer Davis, Erika Olson Gross, Terrence Payne and Joe Sinness – the exhibit includes Davis' familiar hybrid cast of animal/monster/human experiencing the trials and tribulations of fantasy life and lost innocence; Gross' bucolic landscape sculpture and illustrative paintings; Payne's dark humored pastel narratives; and Sinness' baroque, hyper-realistic drawings for a hodgepodge of chimera-esque local art. On view through January 2nd."

Terrence Payne @ Local Artist Interviews

An interview with Terrence Payne on Local Artist Interviews.

"Terrence Payne has lived and worked in the Minneapolis area for the past fifteen years, building a body of unique and thought provoking work while exhibiting at galleries and universities throughout the united states. His work can be found in private, corporate and collegiate collections throughout the world. Terrence founded Rosalux gallery eight years ago to give local emerging and mid career artists an opportunity to exhibit their work in an environment that would bring them higher visibility while nurturing their artistic callings without the limitations imposed by many commercial galleries. Serving as gallery director since its inception , he has helped over sixty local artists further their art careers through their involvement with Rosalux..."

TONIGHT (10/21/10)!

Check out a blurb about our show and Joe's beautiful drawing in the this week's issue of City Pages!

*and*

Secrets of the City says,
"Be sure to pop into the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program gallery for the official opening reception for Flourish, a locally-bred group showing featuring a four-pack of the Twin Cities most talented. See the salty/sweet, imaginative works of Jennifer Davis; the pattern-rich landscapes of Erika Olson Gross; the nostalgic, deft oil pastel work of Terrence Payne; and the vividly impeccable drawings of one Joe Sinness."

Thank you, CP & Secrets!

TCB Magazine

A preview of Flourish in Twin Cities Business Magazine:

"Flourish, a new show from the Minnesota Artist Exhibition Program, showcases some of the hottest young talent in the Twin Cities. Davis’s candy-colored pastels of children and fantastical creatures hint at deep, dark trouble. Payne’s captions narrate the inner turmoil of the characters in his oils on paper. Sinness uses colored pencil to create scenarios of hyper-realistic texture and pattern. October 22–January 2, gratis museum admission, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, 612-870-3000, artsmia.org. - Camille LeFevre"
